TRL Gas Co-op's current fixed charges, delivery charges, and standard rural installation cost have been incorporated into the calculation to provide a comparison that is relevant to our service area.

Because propane is sold by volume (litres) and natural gas is sold by energy content (gigajoules), a conversion is required to compare the two energy sources. This calculator uses a conversion factor of 1 gigajoule (GJ) per 39 litres of propane.

The payback calculation is based solely on estimated annual energy cost savings and does not include financing costs, interest charges, borrowing costs, monthly payment plan fees, or other costs associated with installation financing. Customers who finance their installation may experience a longer payback period than shown by this calculator. Installation pricing is subject to site conditions and may vary depending on the specific requirements of the service connection.
